How do you run your property portfolio?
We run our properties through a limited company. We aim to give the best service to our tenants to grow our business in the London area.
We provide this level of service through continuous innovation and by using new technology such as Landlord Vision.
What made you choose Landlord Vision?
Before we decided to use software we were struggling with mismanaged rental income, issues with repairs and maintenance, and lack of communication. Finding up to date EPCs/Gas Safety information/EICRs was also a challenge.
Landlord Vision was the top rated software and was mobile friendly, meaning that our contractors could use it on the go.
How has Landlord Vision helped you and your business?
All staff are trained to use Landlord Vision which keeps things consistent.
The software allows us to know what rental payments are meant to be coming in. It makes it easy to see what properties are occupied, when contracts are coming to an end, to obtain a tenant’s mobile number in a few clicks, see a full statement of account for our tenants, and much more.
Has Landlord Vision saved you any money or time?
We spent much, much less time doing manual spreadsheets, and filing certificates which inevitably used to get lost before we switched to software.
In terms of money, we now fill void properties quicker which minimises loss of rent. This is because vacant properties are highlighted on the Landlord Vision dashboard.
Would you recommend Landlord Vision to other landlords?
Yes – I’d say make the investment now if you’re ready for software. It’s well worth it and you’ll later find out you should have made the switch a long time ago.
Why did you need landlord software?
We set up some units of temporary accommodation, so we needed to look for a system we could use to manage these.
What made you choose Landlord Vision?
We were looking for the ability to record and calculate weekly charges with ease.We chose Landlord Vision as it was approved by our IT team and the costs are very competitive.
Has Landlord Vision increased your productivity?
Landlord Vision makes it easier to keep much more detailed records. The software has been instrumental for our team when working with tenants to help manage and regulate information.
License agreements are inputted, and from there we can keep track of who we have in our temporary accommodation as well as other relevant information.
Do you have any favourite features?
We like being able to keep on top of changes in payments and invoices with ease. The invoice emails that can be sent from the software are especially useful. This has become an invaluable feature for us.
Would you recommend Landlord Vision to other councils?
Yes!
Landlord Vision is a great product that has saved us time by compiling all the information we need in one place, allowing us to work effectively and efficiently.
It was taking up a lot of my time to maintain tenants in and out periods, security deposits, and calculate pro rata rents when people moved in or out before the month’s end. Landlord Vision had a solution to maintain all those things in the software, so I no longer had to maintain them manually.
There are also lots of other great ways that the software uses automated functions, just like other accounting software.
I like the tax reports and automatic invoices. However, one feature that has unexpectedly become an essential part of my bookkeeping is the live bank feeds and reconciliation capability in the software.
I love that new features, often ones suggested by customers, are constantly being added to the software to stay up to date with the needs of my clients.
Yes! And as a bonus, because I use Landlord Vision to manage my clients' properties, I was chosen as one of the approved bookkeepers in the Landlord Vision directory. This has introduced me to new customers.
I’ve even learned something new and helpful by using the software, which is how to add batch payments to invoices.
I run my properties as a company, and although we weren’t facing any challenges before, Landlord Vision makes it much easier to track and manage day to day tasks.
We decided on Landlord Vision because the software operates in a similar way to how we ran the business before, so the transition was almost seamless.
The software makes it easy to manage tenant information, communicate with tenants and manage property finances.
We previously had to run multiple spreadsheets and pull information as required, but Landlord Vision automates all of this in the reports section.
The finance reports have been much more useful than I expected.
We’ve saved a lot of time by using software instead of spreadsheets and time is money. So for that reason, we’ve definitely saved money. Now we can run accounts in the background and have easier access to reports.
Yes, it’s great for professional landlords and is very easy to use.

Andrea has been a landlord for 20 years. She uses Landlord Vision to run her successful property portfolio.
How do you run your property portfolio?
I run my properties in a limited liability partnership (LLP) and also as part of a Trust. I invest in local flats to better my local area and use the revenue I make as investment money.
Though I currently run my properties this way, I hope to one day transform the block into co-housing.
How did you run your properties before using software?
I used to employ a bookkeeper to take care of the property management tasks. Since I’ve started using Landlord Vision I can manage most tasks myself. I really enjoy using the platform too, it makes everything easy to handle.
How has Landlord Vision helped you and your business?
First are foremost, I am an interior architect. My property business has had to run alongside this. Landlord Vision makes this so easy.
I still need to use an accountant as I would with any software, but he has full access to my files and has no problem accessing the system.
Has Landlord Vision saved you time or money?
I now spend very little time on paperwork and have saved money by no longer needing to employ a bookkeeper.
Whenever I come across a problem with my property management, the support team is there to help, which saves me the time I would’ve otherwise spent fixing the problem myself.
Do you have any favourite features?
I love using the property journal which allows me to note anything important down and link this information to the relevant property or tenant.
I appreciate that by using the system, I have learned how to do my own bookkeeping.
Would you recommend Landlord Vision to other landlords?
Yes! I would definitely recommend investing in a software program if you’re a landlord.
I run my properties as a business and focus on optimising profitability, as this is my sole source of income. When I retire, I plan to sell the properties to fund my retirement.
My previous property management system was fine, but I thought there’d be other programmes that might help me to run things more efficiently. I decided to give Landlord Vision a go largely because of the diverse functionality that was on offer. Once I started using Landlord Vision to maintain my property portfolio, I found that my management process became more detail oriented and was made better by the range of useful features that I didn’t previously have access to. My process also became quicker and saved me time. Overall I now have a better handle on my properties’ finances.
I like the tax features because they make it easy to identify areas that can be improved on in order to limit liabilities, i.e. the expenses and different reports etc. I also think the 'target rents' feature is great, which is something I didn’t think I’d
necessarily use. This allows me to set targets up for how much rent I aim to make over the year.
Yes, and I wouldn’t be without this system. I have used others before, but this is better in many ways as it’s quite simple
I want to use our property portfolio to fund our retirement. To work towards this, our main goal for the properties is to achieve high rental yields and capital growth.
Originally, we used a spreadsheet with complicated formulas to manage the business, which worked but had its limitations.
The main issue was that it didn’t account for all elements of the business e.g. it didn't have a specific place for tenancy details, suppliers or property details, and year end reporting was extremely difficult. On top of this, the spreadsheet became a bit unwieldy as time went on. So, I decided to look for an alternative management method.
I chose Landlord Vision because it offers a complete and concise one stop shop to manage our properties and create property reports. We were particularly keen to use accounting features, which have enabled us to consolidate all our property related transactions into one central system.
Previously we were struggling to effectively record our property data. Now, we can store tenancy information, important documents, events, etc., all from one place which is exactly what we wanted.
Using the software makes it easy for us to input and store important data, it keeps our data safe and backs it up, and the whole process saves us time.
Absolutely, and I’d say get started as soon as you can if you're having the same problems that we were having.
I hold my properties in a limited company. In the long term, I want to use my properties to fund an early retirement.
Before I used Landlord Vision, my business data was stored in folders, files, spreadsheets, and the list goes on. As my portfolios grew, managing them this way became too difficult.
I chose Landlord Vision so I could store all aspects of my property management in one intuitive system. The software allows me to add two portfolios onto one system, whilst keeping them separate!
I use the calendar feature each day to review important dates, payments to be paid, renewals, etc. and prioritise my tasks for the day/week ahead.
I like getting early warnings for deadlines and documents that are expiring, as I previously had to track these in my personal calendar. I even learned something new, which was how to send out documents for people to e-sign.
Everything is now at my fingertips, which makes things much quicker. I can retrieve documents without hassle and I can input expenses as I go. I think this will make my tax return much easier this year.
Yes! Landlord Vision is a great system. It’s easy to access, which means no more scrolling on spreadsheets and looking through files. Landlord Vision ticks all the boxes for me as a property management system.
I run my properties through a limited company and aim to grow by reinvesting profits into buying more properties. Along the way we have also helped some friends with managing their portfolios as well.
We started out using agents before deciding to take on full management of our properties. Doing this with just spreadsheets didn’t work for us, so we tried out some software options.
We decided on Landlord Vision because of the software’s accounting capability and their link with the NRLA.
We are loving it all, I cannot say one particular feature as it all goes together. However, I suppose I do like looking at the reports.
After getting up and running with Landlord Vision, we have become much more productive.
Improved productivity has been vital for us as we expanded because more properties means more time taken to manage them. So time saved with Landlord Vision is essential.
Now our property business is much more streamlined.
Yes, of course! I already have done. Landlord Vision will help to make your business more professional by allowing you to keep a better eye on your accounts as well as property and tenant information.
We run our properties as a business. When we retire, the rental profits will be additional income alongside our pension, and then the properties will be passed down to our children.
I was after a one stop software solution to manage all the properties. I wanted one that gave reminders and deadlines for property tasks as they were required to be dealt with.
Landlord Vision met my requirements and allowed me to keep all property information in one place. As a bonus, the software is MTD for income tax ready which isn’t required yet, but we’re glad we’re prepared for this when the deadline comes around.
Landlord Vision is probably the most integral part of running my property business. It’s aided us enormously in the smooth running and management of the properties.
The software keeps all of our reminders in one place and the calendar view is a huge benefit to me. So far, the software has ensured that nothing has been overlooked and has saved us lots of time on property management.
We love that the bank reconciliation feature ensures we don’t make any mistakes with bookkeeping entries.
Absolutely. Landlord vision is a great tool to keep on track of a lot, if not all, the tasks and responsibilities for properties that you manage.
The software takes some getting used to, but by using it on a regular basis it will very quickly become easier to use and you will wonder how you managed to do your job without it.
I currently run my properties as a personally owned business, however going forward I plan to run any new properties I purchase in the limited company I recently set up.
My current end goal is to have a total of 20-30 rental properties that will fund my retirement.
Once my portfolio surpassed a total of two properties, things became harder to keep track of and I needed a central place to store all of this information. Landlord Vision was the only software programme I could find that had all
the features I was looking for.
I needed software that could handle multiple properties as well as multiple portfolios, and also had an option to request new features.
Landlord Vision continually listens to their subscribers and make improvements based on our feedback.
I now feel much more organised and don’t need to worry about anything, as everything is saved in Landlord Vision for me to access.
Once all my data was input, everything became much quicker and easier. Now, if I’m asked for information on my portfolio, it’s available on screen or on one of the many reports.
I get warnings before deadlines expire which makes it easy to avoid unnecessary fines. Live bank feeds also makes the process much more streamlined and efficient.
Yes, it’s a must to use Landlord Vision if you have more than 2 properties or intend to have more than 2 properties.
I run 7 of my properties under our personal name and the remaining 2 in a limited company. The limited company was set up for tax purposes.
We recently took over the management of our properties when our management agency’s service started to deteriorate.
After attempting property management using a spreadsheet, I realised my needs were much more complex.
I researched a few packages, and in the end Landlord Vision seemed to have everything I needed, without being difficult to use. The live demo with a Q&A section also really helped me to make my decision to go with Landlord Vision.
The cost was very attractive and their support team have been brilliant for any queries I’ve had.
All my property details and documents are saved in one place for when I need them. I can check in regularly to confirm payments when rents are due. I have not made use of the Accounting Module yet, but will be looking to do so very soon.
It has helped me to be totally organised, as I can access all my property information easily. This has saved me lots of time on admin that would've been much less streamlined. Managing the properties ourselves, using a good programme, means we are now saving the managing agent fee on every property.
If your property management needs are too complex for a spreadsheet, Landlord Vision is the extra hand you need.
I run my property as a business and it is my main source of income. I plan to pass my portfolio onto my family, and also use it to fund my retirement.
I used to subscribe to NRLA and after reading up on their advice, I realised I needed an account system for my rental property. I shopped around and found that Landlord Vision was best suited for my business, as they offered the features I was looking for.
I like being able to have all of my rental property information in one place ready for when the time comes to generate taxation reports.
And because everything is backed up in the cloud, this also means that I have reliable and accurate records for whenever I might need them.
Some new regulations for renting came into effect and Landlord Vision kept me up to date and compliant with these.
Yes, I would always recommend Landlord Vision. The software has a good layout and helpful tuition videos too.
It's also great that the annual cost of the software has stayed at a reasonable cost, unlike more expensive options like Sage.
I currently run my portfolio as a business, however soon I will be incorporating my properties into a property company.
My long term goal for my portfolio will be to pass them onto my sons who currently help me manage everything.
I was struggling to keep track of all the costs and documents that I needed and this seemed like a one stop solution.
I tried a number of other software solutions and eventually chose Landlord Vision as the easiest and most intuitive to work with.
It has kept all my data, photos, compliance certificates in a logical manner and allowed me to categorise costs and income accordingly.
The software also produces elements that I need to include in my tax return easily.
Automated invoicing and recording of recurring monthly costs and mortgage payments is the main benefit and this benefit will only increase as my portfolio increases.
Also, Landlord Vision allows my tenants to report issues and it tracks them and reminds me to deal with them. My tenants can look at their own dashboard and see the status of their account and I can share documents easily
allowing version control.
Absolutely! It has made my life a lot easier. It’s user friendly and the support is great. Ben has been amazing and helped me when I got stuck quickly and efficiently.
I have been letting independently until now, and have recently started an LTD company. I intend on moving my portfolio into the LTD company.
The shareholders are family members, so I hope to have the option in the future to take a more hands-off approach to my business and let my family takeover the management side.
I was looking for a programme that was progressive and kept up with the constant changes in the industry, for instance the upcoming regulations that will require quarterly tax reports.
Now that I’m using Landlord Vision, I reconcile on a regular basis with my bank account. This categorises all my expenses and reminds me of imminent renewals. This feature has been particularly useful in making sure I avoid fines
by keeping up to date with certifications. All my information is always readily available and having these records to hand has saved me time on my property management.
The programme calculates rent I might owe to a tenant, which is particularly useful when a tenant leaves mid-month.
Aside from that, the software motivates me to be organised and keep on top of everything, so preparing accounts becomes almost insignificant.
Yes, I felt this was a comprehensive package at a reasonable price. It’s user friendly and features like the pre-warning of certification expiry are such a bonus.
The support is excellent! Leaving a “help” request is simple or you can also call to their support team.
