Rent arrears are on the increase. Figures show that reported rental arrears went up by 13.8% between Q2 and Q3 last year. Furthermore, the NLA’s own research backs this up: 37% of landlords said they had experienced rental arrears.

Rental Income Guaranteed
To try and address the problem, the National Landlords Association (NLA) has come up with a new service – NLA Rent on Time – which guarantees landlords’ rental income, even if their tenants don’t pay the rent. So how does the scheme work?
The Rent on Time service from the NLA is a fully-automated system with a telephone helpline.
“Rent arrears is one of the biggest risks of letting property so, as the largest landlord association in the UK, we wanted to assure landlords they need not worry if their tenant doesn’t pay their rent,” says Carolyn Uphill, chairwoman of the NLA.
Peace of Mind for Landlords
“The service provides peace of mind for all landlords by managing the rent collection process and paying it into your account when it suits you, even if your tenant fails to pay.
“NLA Rent on Time also takes the hassle out of dealing with missed rents, by working directly with your tenants in order to resolve the issues and, if necessary, initiating property repossession at no additional cost.”
NLA members can take advantage of a discount when registering for the service. For details of how much the service costs, click here.
