The new Landlord Vision has been going for a few months now and for the last couple, we have been really packing the features in so I thought it would be a good time to review where we are up to, just in case you thought we weren’t doing anything. Many of them are also found in the legacy software, but we’ve put some new features in as well.
New Landlord Vision Reports
After launch, we set about adding some reports, because after all, what is the use of software if it doesn’t tell you anything? We started with the Aged Payables and Aged Receivables reports, then followed them up with the Occupancy Overview, Capital Gains, Trial Balance and Nominal Ledger. This completed the main requirements of the accounting engine.
On top of this, we have also added export functionality to a number of other screens like Safety Certificates, Insurances, Invoices, Bills, Account Transactions, Tasks and many more. Use the filter options on these screens to see exactly what you want and then press the Export button to get that information in a spreadsheet for further manipulation, or for your records. Giving you access to the information you want without having to navigate to a different part of the software.
Security Features
We have added User Access Control, an Activity Log and an Accounting Data Lock to help keep your data safe. You can read more about this and other features that we already had in our security tips blog here.
Invoice Template
You can send invoices from within Landlord Vision, and we have finished the template so that now you can add your own Document Headers as well as Payment Instructions to the invoices. These same headers also appear on Mail Merge documents that you produce in the software as well.
Landlord Vision Property Manager Improvements
We have now added the remaining sections of the Property Manager, namely Key Tracking, White Goods, Utility Suppliers, Meter Readings, Target Rents and the Gallery. All of these can be found in the Properties area and within the properties themselves. The White Goods area also allows you to track your warranty expiry dates, and these appear on the dashboard along with your other expiring items. More on early warnings below. With these additions, you can now migrate to the new version of Landlord Vision from the legacy version, and there is a guide on how to do that here.
Other new Landlord Vision features
It is now possible to import some basic data into a portfolio, like property and tenancy data to get you started.
The Accounting Journals allow you to record movements of money in to and out of nominal non-bank accounts.
We have added Tenancy check in and check out lists to each tenancy, so you can mark off when things have been done as tenants move in and move out.
Configurable early warnings allow you to specify how far in advance you want to be notified for different events, so you can have four weeks for safety certificates and two months for mortgage fixed rate periods for example. Whatever you need. All warnings of the same type have the same notification period, so you don’t need to keep adding the same early warning periods for each individual expiry date you enter into the software.
Still to come As I type this there are quite a few features currently being worked on so more will keep popping up as the weeks go by. Stay tuned and I will have more updates for you.
