Landlords in Cumbria are being encouraged to sign up for a new landlord accreditation scheme. The scheme is being run by the National Landlords Association (NLA) in partnership with five of the six district councils in Cumbria.
What are the Benefits of the Scheme?
Buy to let landlords who sign up for the scheme will be given the opportunity to advertise on the University of Cumbria’s website, which is useful if they want to attract student tenants. They will also have access to a fortnightly e-newsletter, training events, help with fire safety, and energy efficiency advice, plus all the benefits the NLA has to offer, including regular legal updates.
Cumbria Landlord Accreditation Scheme Launch
The scheme will be launched on May 20th and all landlords are invited to attend the launch event at the University of Cumbria’s campus in Carlisle. It starts at 6.30pm.
Ruth Atkinson from Eden Council is happy to be collaborating with the NLA as she thinks the scheme will offer lots of great benefits to landlords in the local area.
“Landlords can opt into a membership package that suits their needs, which can include access to free downloadable tenancy agreements, and other legal forms, as well as a telephone helpline and online library. This is just the sort of scheme I would expect good landlords would want to join.”
Landlords who are already members of accreditation schemes in any of the Cumbria districts will be able to transfer to the new scheme (with the exception of Copeland).
