When Being a Landlord is Bizarre and Disgusting…

A ruined house

Most landlords have a horror story relating to a tenant who didn’t pay the rent, trashed the place, or did something equally dire. A whole host of landlords recently posted on confessions sharing app, Whisper, revealing exactly what horrifying things they had found after tenants had moved out – and in some cases, before…

Tales from the Dark Side

Some of the following stories are bizarre. Some are just plain shocking! See how many you can relate to.

One landlord described how his ex-tenant had knocked holes in the walls. The property’s internal walls had been destroyed with a hammer.

Another landlord described how he went to his property after the tenant had left in the middle of the night and discovered 12 cats living in the house. He had no idea the lady was even a cat owner.

Human excrement is a common feature of bad tenants. A poor unfortunate landlord came to view his property and clean up after the last tenant, only to find a pile of excrement in the oven. Not what you want to find! Another tenant left all his excrement in the boiler room for the landlord to find. Yuk.

Bathtub Aquarium

A rather more pleasant find was a bathtub turned into an aquarium. The live-in landlord had rented out a bedroom with a private en-suite bathroom and the tenant had used the bath for his tropical fish.
